JustCurious Awards 2014

[print_gllr id=1552]

We joined the drama in JHB this Saturday to cover the JustCurious Awards. Kelly Khumalo in a dazzling preggy outfit that had all the fashion police in a hocus pocus. Dineo Ranaka doing her thing like only she could, cracking jokes like she was high on some anti-depressants. Lelo looking fabulous in just a skirt and bra.

Bujy doing his thing as usual on the dance floor. He also cracked my favourite joke of the day “Sisdudla, sizowa” telling the event’s co host Mr Akhumzi to move over and give him space on the podium, the crowd burst into prolonged laughter as did Akhumzi taking it like a gentleman, though he sure was embarrased.

Mr Kabomu was also there in his designer suite and iconic hat, chatting up the ladies being “Mr Cool guy”. Some people kinda took the drinking overboard though, I’m not sure if that’s just because the alcohol was free or if the general unknowns of the event were just too star struck to remain sober. Like the A-List event it was, no hoodlum fights ensued, everyone was chill just relaxing and moving to the sounds of the DJ.

There were few cliques if I might add, the musicians seemed to keep to themselves discussing musical politics as they know them. Journalists also mixed themselves up with the connections of Mzansi. Bonang of-cause got an award “JC Ford Celebrity of the year”, even though she wasn’t even there.

A general sort of disliking or gentle hater-ism was applied to miss Pearl Thusi as she and Dineo were also up for Celebrity of the year, people just don’t seem to like her. Dineo says she just steals people’s jobs all around. Khaya Dlanga scooped “Vodacom Best celebrity on social media”, you could tell he was delighted from the glorious smile on his face.

Unfortunately the award for “news maker of the year” and “best Tjo Moment of the year” by an overwhelming majority was Oscar Pistorius. As Mr Pistorius was not there, we hope and pray that whoever delivers the award to the x-hero wears a bulletproof vest and comes out alive.

Best SA Magazine of the year cover went to True Love Magazine. Most underrated talent of the year went to Thembsie Matu who is an Actress. JC Blogger of the year went to Anga, whilst “Best Catfight of the year was closely contested by “Bonang and Poppy’s hair pulling saga” and “Kuli Roberts vs Lerato Kganyago” but went to the later.

Best Celebrity news coverage went to V Entertainment and was received by Legend. Tina and Prosper headlines won the “That was not worth a headline” award. The worst kept celebrity secrete award went to AKA and DJ Zinhle’s relationship. Best Red carpet look went to Gert-Johan Coetzee – Bonang. Best TV show or story line went to the Isibaya crew. and finally the “You were robbed” award went to Moneoa-Metro FM Music awards.
